One summer day, Brett was hanging out with a few of his friends. Maybe it was fate, or just luck, but he happened to catch the attention of Maryana, who just so happened to be a friend of a friend. It wasn’t long before Maryana introduced herself to Brett with a friendly hello. After a quick conversation, they both realized that they shared similar interests and exchanged numbers. Over the next few days, they talked on the phone and got to know each other a little better, discussing a variety of topics and past experiences. They both could tell this was the beginning of a good friendship.
A couple of days later, Brett suggested they meet up and do something fun together, like play pool. After numerous requests, Maryana finally agreed. Brett picked up Maryana and they drove to play pool together, their first date. Though pool is hardly a conventional first date, it gave Brett and Maryana a chance to do something fun together and continue to talk and get to know each other. It also gave Maryana a chance to kick Brett’s butt at pool a few times!
After a few games, they decided to go to the local Cyber Cafe for coffee. Laughing, talking, and smiling, they both knew they had met someone special. However, to Maryana’s disappointment Brett did not kiss her good night when he dropped her off back at her house. Brett knew he had found someone unique and wanted to be a perfect gentleman, she would have to wait until their second date – at least! It was only a few weeks later, (and many phone calls and dates), that Brett asked Maryana out.
That summer Brett and Maryana spent almost every day together. It wasn’t long before they both were completely head over heals in love with each other. Over the next few years, they had a variety of adventures and continued to try new things together like, hiking, camping, mountain biking, skiing, road trips, and even brewing beer. What started out as friendly conversation, quickly turned into a wonderful relationship, better than either of them could have hoped for.
